Course Description and Learning Objectives: This is a three-day course that will provide participants with training and certification in the techniques to start IV infusion and blood withdrawal for testing.
Objectives: Upon completion of the course, the participant will be able to:

8.       Demonstrate how to discontinue a peripheral IV device
9.       State reasons for peripheral IV discontinuation
10.    Verbalize importance of standard precaution for infection control


Basic ECG and Pharmacology for RNs

Course Description and Learning Objectives: This is a one-day AHA course on basic rhythm recognition and emergency drugs designed for both new RN graduates and experienced nurses to provide safe and efficient care to patients in the acute care setting. This is a pre-course for ACLS students and other healthcare providers, and is also for ACLS students who need to improve after the ACLS pre-course self-assessment test. At the end of the class, the participants will be able to:

1.       state the foundation of rhythm analysis such as cardiac anatomy and physiology
2.       identify ECG interpretation basics
3.       recognize several dysrhythmias such as sinus rhythms, junctional rhythms, ventricular rhythms, and heart block rhythms
4.       state emergency drugs and usage; drugs, doses and routes of administration during cardiovascular emergencies; and integrate basic drug pharmacology into ACLS algorithms
